ANSWER: From the outset, one should keep in mind that it is not necessary for one to get married to a Hafidh, Aalim or Qaari. When looking for a spouse, one should gauge whether he is a practicing Muslim i.e. he is punctual in performing Salaah, he fulfils the commands of Allah Ta’ala, and abstains from sins and the various prohibitions of Shariah., Also, he should have good character and must not have any evil habits. Yes, over and above all the qualities cited above, if you find a person who is a Hafidh, Aalim or Qari, then this will be an extra perk.
