Question:-
To what extent are females permitted to trim their hair?
Answer:-
It is not permissible for a female to trim her hair under normal circumstances. However, Ulama have given permission for trimming split ends of the hair if the hair is not long enough, and it has stopped growing due to the split ends. The trimming of the split ends would thus not be in order to stunt the growth of the hair but rather to stimulate and enhance its growth. If the hair is already long enough, then even this will not be permissible. (Re:- Fatawaa Rahimiyah vol.10 pg.322).
