Existing member registering as a “new member” to receive discount

QUESTION:

A certain franchise offers a promotion of 20% discount for new members. I already have an email account registered with them. Will it be permissible to create an account using a different email address to avail of the discount?

ANSWER:

Since you are already a member, it will not be correct for you to deceive the company by creating a new email address and registering yourself as a new member to qualify for the discount (offered to new members only). Yes, there is no harm in registering another member of your family, who is not yet a member, to qualify for the discount. He may then purchase the goods for you using the discount offered to him.
