QUESTION:
Is a female who is Napaak (in the state of Haidh) allowed to listen recitations of the Quraan? If so, then while listening, if she follows the Surahs in her mind, will she be sinful?
ANSWER:
A woman in a state of Haidh is permitted to listen to the Quraan Sharif being recited, and she may follow the recitation in her mind. However, she is not permitted to recite the Quraan Sharif. [Re:- Haidh Wa Nifaas Ke Shari’ee Ahkaam Pg.76]
عَنْ حَمَّادٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ: ” إِذَا سَمِعَ الْحَائِضُ وَالْجُنُبُ السَّجْدَةَ*، يَغْتَسِلُ الْجُنُبُ وَيَسْجُدُ، وَلاَ تَقْضِى الْحَائِضُ لأَنَّهَا لاَ تُصَلِّ (مسند الدارمي)
