Haa’idha Writing Quraanic Aayaah

QUESTION:

What is the ruling regarding writing the Name of Allah Ta’ala or Quraanic Aayaah and Ahadeeth when in the state of Haidh?

ANSWER:

It is permissible for a Haa’idha (a woman in the state of menstruation) to write verses of Quraan Sharif without touching the page; as long as her hand is not directly touching the paper. Based on this, it will be permissible to write verses of the Quraan Sharif after placing a sheet of paper between one’s hand and the page on which the Quraanic verses will be written.

قَالَ فِي مُنْيَةِ الْمُصَلِّي لَا يَجُوزُ وَفِي الْخُجَنْدِيِّ يُكْرَهُ لِلْجُنُبِ وَالْحَائِضِ كِتَابَةُ الْقُرْآنِ إذَا كَانَ مُبَاشِرَ اللَّوْحِ وَالْبَيَاضِ وَإِنْ وَضَعَهُمَا عَلَى الْأَرْضِ وَكَتَبَهُ مِنْ غَيْرِ أَنْ يَضَعَ يَدَهُ عَلَى الْمَكْتُوبِ لَا بَأْسَ بِهِ

لا يجوز للجنب والحائض أن يمسا المصحف بكمهما أو ببعض ثيابهما لأن الثياب بمنزلة يديهما

فإن كان لا يمس الصحيفة بأن وضع عليها ما يحول بينها وبين يده يؤخذ بقول أبي يوسف لأنه لم يمس المكتوب ولا الكتاب
