Income of a barber that trims the beards of his clients

Question:-

Many barbers shave and trim the beards of their clients. Will the barber be sinful for such an action as it is the request of the client that the barber is fulfilling.

Answer:-

It is necessary for a Muslim to grow his beard to the extent of a fist length and trimming or shortening the beard less than a fist length is not permissible. It is therefore not permissible for a Muslim barber to trim the beard of his clients less than a fist length, nor is it permissible for him to cut their hair against Shariah (such as cutting the hair in two lengths and thereby imitating the Kuffar). The income derived from such a business is not permissible (Makrooh); and the barber that trims the hair and beard of his clients against Shariah is required to make Taubah.

شرعیت مطہرہ میں ایک قبضہ کے بقدر ڈاڑھی رکھنا لازم ہے ۔ یک مشت کے اندر کاٹنا ، کٹانا  دونوں کام بنگاہ شرعیت گناہ اور ناجائز ہیں – بنا بریں مسلمان نائی کا غیر شرعی  بال کاٹنا اور ڈاڑھی کا حلق کرنا  اور اس کو پیشہ بنانا ناجائز ہے ، اس سے توبہ کرنا لازم اور ضروری ہے –فتاوی دار العلوم زکریا  ص۶۱۴ ج۵

ڈاڑھی منڈنا جائز نہیں – –یہ کام گناہ ہے اس کی آمدنی بھی مکروہ ہے – فتاوی محمودیہ ص۱۲۳ ج۱۷
