Jibaalus Salaam

QUESTION:

What is Muftisahib’s view on Jibaalus Salaam Estate? Would it be correct to purchase plots there in this Zamaanah?

ANSWER:

Our view is that we haven’t yet reached that time where one has to relinquish the towns and go away into the mountains. Yes, if one intends to purchase a land for the future in order to go away into the mountains, to stay away from Fitnah, to be self-sufficient and be saved from the clutches of the Kuffar government, then one may purchase a land in the place cited in the query. However, one must take possession of the land and it should not only be some phantom pyramid scheme.
