Maintenance of a blind child

Question:-

If a blind child reaches puberty, will the father still be responsible for his expenses, or will the father be absolved of his responsibility since the child has reached puberty?

Answer:-

Due to the child’s physical condition (blindness), the father will be responsible to maintain the child. This responsibility remains with the father as long as he is alive.

والذكور اما عاجزون عن الكسب لزمانة او عمي او شلل او ذهاب عقل فعليه نفقتهم  –  فتح القدير ص217 ج4
