Makrooh-e-Tanzihi becoming Makrooh-e-Tahreemi
Question:-
Is it true that by doing an act that is Makrooh-e-Tanzeehi multiple times, results in it becoming Makrooh-e-Tahreemi?
Answer:-
The jurists have stated that by persisting and repeatedly committing a minor sin it becomes a major sin, hence, discarding an act that is Makrooh-e-Tanzeehi is necessary according to the jurists. Also, committing a Makrooh-e-Tanzeehi act at times results in the act becoming Makrooh-e-Tahreemi.
The reason for this is as follows; a person that perpetrates a Makrooh-e-Tanzeehi will regard it to be trivial. When one starts thinking in this manner then he becomes less fearful of committing the wrong, hence, he will eventually become so bold that he will perpetrate an act that is Makrooh-e-Tahreemi. The principle in this regard is, that the foreword to a Haraam is also Haraam. In conclusion, although a Makrooh-e-Tanzeehi act in itself is not Haraam, but looking at the end result (that it could lead to Haraam) it should be discarded. [Re:- Ashraful Ahkaam Pg.289 / 290]
