QUESTION:
Is it permissible to have hair implants carried out using one’s own hair in Isma for men and women ?
ANSWER:
To carry out a hair implant using one’s own hair (where hair will be removed from one part of the body and planted in another part of the body) is permitted. It will not be permissible to use the hair of other human beings, but using one’s own hair is acceptable. If water reaches the roots of the hair during Wudhu or Ghusl then well and good, otherwise if one is able to remove the implanted hair, then he should remove it and allow the water to reach its roots. However, if removing the implanted hair is not possible, then one may pour water over it or pass his wet hands over it. [Re:- Fataawa Darul Uloom Zakariyya Pg.337 Vol. 8]
