Prescriptions of the Mashaa’ikh
Question:-
Does it constitute as Kufr or Bid’ah for a Muslim to believe that a certain Zikr has a greater spiritual impact than Tilaawat?
Answer:-
The aspect of what is more effective for one’s spiritual well-being is a matter that is entrusted to one’s spiritual guide. The Quraan Sharif is definitely a cure for the ailments of the bosom (spiritual illnesses), but if one’s Sheikh (who is a genuine and reliable Sheikh) chooses a prescription from the Hadith, or a prescription which he acquired from his seniors (based on experience), then it is quite in order as the prescribed Wazifa is administered as treatment and may prove more effective. This, in no way means, it is superior to the book of Allah. Yes, it is extremely beneficial for his spiritual condition.
In conclusion, accepting that a certain Wazifa or Zikr is most beneficial for one’s spiritual illness (particularly when prescribed by one’s Sheikh) doesn’t constitute Kufr or Bid’ah.
