Reciting the Tasmiyah at the Time of Slaughter

QUESTION:

According to the Hanafi Madhab, is it necessary to verbally recite the Tasmiyah before slaughtering, or does it suffice to say it in the heart? If a person forgets to recite the Tasmiyah at the time of slaughter, will the animal be considered Halaal for consumption?

ANSWER: 

It is necessary to verbally utter the Tasmiyah. If one left out the Tasmiyah intentionally, then the animal will not be Halaal to consume. However, if one forgot to recite the Tasmiyah, then the animal will be Halaal to consume.
