Salaah At The Airport
QUESTION:
I will be traveling to the UK. There is a possibility of landing at the time of Salaah. The airport has a prayer room facility which has a Wudhu Khana, Musallahs, separate ladies’ area, etc. but the prayer facility is called a “Multi-Faith Prayer Room” which is accessible to people of all religions. What should a person do if he needs to read Salaah, considering the fact that maybe airport authorities would want passengers to use designated places for prayer?
ANSWER:
You may perform Salaah anywhere at the airport ensuring that you are not causing anyone inconvenience and that there is no impurity on the place where you perform Salaah.
In the event where authorities do not allow the performance of Salaah anywhere in the airport, then one may perform Salaah in the Multi-Faith Prayer Room but one should ensure that there are no idols or pictures are displayed. If there are idols or pictures displayed, then one should cover it with a sheet.
