If the Salafi is moderate in his temperament and acts on some Hadith with religiousness, and he does not speak ill of the pious predecessors, then Salaah behind such a Ghair Muqallid is valid. However, if the Salafi speaks ill of the pious predecessors and he is a Fitna-maker, then Salaah behind him is Makrooh, and in certain instances, Salaah behind him will be null and void. Since the Salafi in question holds a contradicting view to the Ahnaaf in regards to the Being of Allah Ta’ala, it is best that he is not appointed as the Imaam. [Kitaabun Nawaazil Pg.281/282 Vol….]
