The Haa In Tasmee’
QUESTION:
I heard an Aalim say that the ه in حمده from سمع الله لمن حمده is هاء السكت according to Jumhur, and it is not a ضمير. Is this the correct and preferred opinion?
ANSWER:
The statement is correct according to the view of the Jumhoor Ulama, that the هاء in حمده from سمع الله لمن حمده is هاء السكت and not هاء الضمير
According to this view the هاء is for pausing and ease of pronunciation and is not a pronoun referring to Allah Taala.
ومعنى سمع الله: أجاب، وهذا مجاز عن الإجابة، والهاء فيه للسكتة والاستراحة، لا للكناية حتى لا يجوز فيه إلا الوقف،
