Using perfumes that contain alcohol

Question:-

Is it permissible for women to wear perfume that contains alcohol?

Answer:-

Some of the current day Muftis are of the opinion that it is acceptable to utilize perfumes that contain alcohol as the alcohol contained therein is not from dates and grapes. Secondly, they state that the alcohol in the perfume is minimal and does not intoxicate. [Re:- Ahsanul Fatawaa Pg.488 Vol.8 / Kitaabun Nawaazil Pg.154 Vol.17]

However, our Darul Ifta does not approve of the usage of perfumes containing alcohol, particularly when there are many alcohol-free perfumes available on the market. Also, you should keep in mind that females may only utilize perfume within the confines of their home to please their husbands. It is not permissible for females to utilize perfume when emerging from the home.
