Using titles of honour for Allah Ta’ala
Question:-
Whenever the name of Allah is mentioned then will attaching a title of honour to it such as ‘Subhaa Nahu Wa Ta’ala’ or any other honorary title (that indicates towards the greatness of Allah Ta’ala) be regarded as obligatory or Mustahab?
Answer:-
From the text of the Fuqaha we understand that whenever the name of Allah Ta’ala is taken then it is Mustahab (preferable) for the speaker to attach some honorary title to it, and it is Waajib (obligatory) upon the listener to do the same. One may utilize any title that indicates towards the greatness of Allah Ta’ala and is not restricted to any particular title, such as ‘Subhaa Nahu Wa Ta’ala’ or ‘Tabaaraka Wa Ta’ala’ or ‘Jalla Jalaaluhoo’ etc.
