Working in government offices

Question:-

Are we permitted to work in government offices and parastatals?

Answer:-

There is no harm in taking up a position in government offices or in parastatals with the proviso that one does not carry out any such activity that is against Shariah such as engaging in bribery, corruption etc. and the employee should fulfill his duties and responsibilities as adequately as possible as stipulated in his employment contract.
