Zakaat on shares in a company
Question:-
A person purchased shares in a company. Does he calculate Zakaat on the amount at which he purchased the share, or the current value?
Answer:-
The current market value of the share will be taken into consideration when calculating Zakaat.
ولو ازدادت قيمتها قبل الحول تعتبر قيمتها وقت الوجوب بالاجماع ( الفتاوي التاتارخانية ص170 ج3)
