Removing Braces From The Deceased

QUESTION:

If a Mayyit has braces on their teeth, is it necessary to remove them?

ANSWER:

In principle, all unattached items and extra garments should be removed from the deceased at the time of Ghusl. Hence, the braces should also be removed if it is possible to remove it without any difficulty. If removing the braces is difficult, then Ghusl should be completed without removing it.[Re: Ahsanul Fataawa Vol:4 Pg:240, Fataawa Darul Uloom Zakariyya Vol:2 Pg: 788]

وصنع به ما يصنع بالميت من الكفن وغيره قلت فإذا قتل في المعركة هل يكفن قال يكفن
في ثيابه التي عليه غير أنه ينزع عنه ما كان عليه من السلاح أو فرو أو حشو أو جلد أو

خفين أو منطقة أو قلنسوة ويحنط (الأصل ج١ص٤٠٤)

وينزع عنه الفرو والحشو والقلنسوة والسلاح والخف ” لأنها ليست من جنس الكفن
