Planting flowers on graves

Question:-

Are we permitted to plant flowers / green plants on graves?

Answer:-

The practice of planting roses, flowers and plants on the grave is not proven in Shariah, hence we, as Muslims, should refrain from such a practice or custom. [Re:- Fataawa Mahmoodiyyah Pg.102 Vol.10 Farooqiyyah]

وقال العيني رحمه الله تعالى: إن إلقاءَ الرياحين ليس بشيءٍ، ولم يَمْنع عن إنباتِ الشجرةِ. وفي العالْمكِيرية: أنَّ إلقاءَ الرياحين أيضًا مُفِيد: قلتُ: والاعتماد على ما ذكره العيني (فيض الباري ص72 ج3)
