Placing bells on a cat’s collar

QUESTION:-

Are we allowed to put bells on our cat’s collar? Is it true that angels don’t enter homes where there are bells?

ANSWER:-

It is mentioned in the Hadith Sharif that the angels do not accompany a group of people who have a dog, or bell with them.

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ:لَا تَصْحَبُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ رُفقَةً فِيهَا كَلْبٌ وَلَا جَرَسٌ (صحيح مسلم #2113)

Another Hadith states that bells are instruments of Shaytaan.

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ:الْجَرَسُ مَزَامِيرُ الشَّيْطَانِ (صحيح مسلم #2114)

 From the above-mentioned Ahaadith, it is understood clearly that we should refrain from using bells. The narrations state that it attracts Shaytaan, and the angels stay away from those using bells. In conclusion, bells should not be attached to a cat.
