Accepting LGBTQ+ as permissible in Shariah

Question:-

What is the Shar’ī ruling on a person who said the following?

Question: Do you believe that gay sex is a sin?

Answer: No. If I can just be clear about that. I’ve been asked that question about 25 times, and I’ve answered it in the same way, 25 times. So I can’t change what is said in faith. I can’t change what’s in scripture. What I can tell you is that the approach I will take, which is, that I will not allow my faith to be the basis of legislation.

Another Comment: If someone is from the LGBTQ+ community, they need to be able to look a person in the eyes, and they need to believe that the person is not just going to tolerate them, he is going to celebrate them. And for me that is at the crux and the heart of the issue. We always talk about celebrating diversity, and if we mean that, then its not about tolerating, it’s not just about protecting people’s rights, its about advancing people’s rights.”

Answer:-

In the first scenario, the sin of being gay and being involved in the Haraam of gay sex is being considered as Halaal hence, one loses his Imaan.

In the second scenario, openly accepting and further promoting the evil and Haraam actions of the LGBTQ+ community is Kufr. One is indicating through his statement that being a part of the LGBTQ+ community is permissible and acceptable whereas it is totally Haraam, hence, resulting in Kufr.
