QUESTION:
If a person is selling livestock, is it permissible for him when advertising, to put the pictures of the animals on the advertisement?
ANSWER:
It is not permissible to use pictures of animate objects to advertise one’s good of merchandise. The warning of severe punishment for the picture-makers on the day of Qiyaamah is applicable in this instance as well. [Re: Fataawa Uthmaaniyyah Vol:10 Pg:338]
