Attending the weekly ladies Taleem without a Mahram

Question:-

Is it permissible for ladies to attend the ladies weekly Taleem, considering that they have no mahram to accompany them to and from the venue, even though it may be within their locality?

Answer:-

In principle, it would be permissible for a female to go to a home in the same locality without a Mahram to attend a ladies programme, since one is not travelling out of the town, or Safr distance. However, we are living in a time of Fitnah and we therefore advise that one’s Mahram leaves her at the Taleem venue and fetches her immediately after the programme. We have received reports of young girls leaving home with the excuse of attending Deeni programmes but instead have other agendas in place. It is therefore absolutely necessary that females emerge with their Mahaarim at all times, whether they are attending the weekly ladies Taleem or any other Deeni programme that is within the framework of the Shariah.

One way of overcoming this issue is by having the Taleem at the homes of those females that do not have any Mahaarim to take them to the Taleem venue. In this way, they will not have to leave their homes.
