QUESTION:
At which times should Lobaan be burnt in the house and Masjid?
ANSWER:
We were not able to locate any narration that states a specific time when Loban should be burnt. The narration of Nasai’ee states that Ibn Umar Radiallahu Anhu used to fragrance (the place) with Oud without scent, and camphor which he used to throw with the Oud. He would then say, “This is how Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam would fragrance the place (using Oud).
عـن نـافـع قـال : كان ابن عمر إذا استجمر استجمر بالأَلُوَّةِ، غير مُطَرَّاةِ، وبـكـافـور، يطرحه مع الألوة، ثم قال: هكذا كان يستجمر رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم. ) صحيح النسائي #5150)
