My brother and I have purchased equipment and leads from a call-centre, and are renting a space there, in order to promote a car-tracking product. Kindly advise whether this product is Halaal to promote?

We understand from your query that you have purchased equipment from a call-centre and intend selling a car-tracking device from their premises. The tracking device will be fitted in the vehicle which will assist in tracking the vehicle if stolen. The car owner will pay a monthly rental to have his vehicle monitored or tracked if stolen. We understand that you are in no way affiliated to any insurance company, but vehicles that have the device installed, enjoy a reduced rate on their insurance premiums. Insurance is Haraam hence, you should not advertise or promote any of their products on their behalf in anyway. If our understanding of the business concept is correct (which we have explained above), then marketing the device will be in order.
