Claiming from insurance company for accident damage

Question:-

Someone bumped my car and gave me their insurance details to claim directly from the insurance company. Is it permissible for me to claim from them?

Answer:-

The person that bumped your vehicle is responsible for damages. In the queried scenario, he is simply transferring his debt over to his insurance company. If you accept to claim from them, then there is no harm in doing so as they are paying on behalf of the person that bumped you. If the insurance company for some reason refuses to pay you out, you may claim directly from the person that bumped you.
