Question:-
A few weeks ago my cellphone shop was held up and everything was taken. Alhamdulillah, no one was hurt or killed.
There were a few people who left items with me to sell on their behalf and I am overwhelmed with the worry that I have to pay them for the items that were taken. Am I responsible for paying them for the items that were taken even though there was nothing mentioned beforehand regarding loss or theft of the item/s? I have an auction group that states we will not be responsible for theft or damaged items but some people left their stuff to sell and not to be auctioned. Please let me know!
Answer:-
The goods left by clients for selling is considered as Amaanat. If the goods were stolen, then you will not be responsible since there was no negligence from your side.
