Dua after Asr Salaah
Question:-
What is the significance of Dua after Asr salaah according to all four Imaams?
Answer:-
We only issue answers according to the Hanafi school of thought. However, below we have quoted some narrations of Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam which are general and applicable to one and all, irrespective of the Madhab that they follow.
Hadrat Irbaadh Radiallahu Anhu narrates that Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam is reported to have said, “Whoever has performed the Fardh Salaah and whoever has completed the Quraan Sharif, then it is the time of acceptance of Dua for him.” [Re:-Kanz-ul-Ummal Pg.156 Vol.2]
Hadrat Abu Moosa Radiallahu Anhu narrates that whoever has a need, then he should engage in Dua after the Fardh Salaah. [Re:-Kanz-ul-Ummal Pg.174 Vol.2]
Hadrat Abu Umaamah Radiallahu Anhu narrates that he asked Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam, “When is the time when Duas are most accepted?” Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, “The last portion of the night and after the Fardh Salaah.” [Re:- Tirmidhi Pg.187 Vol.2]
It is narrated by Tabri that Dua which is made after the Fardh Salaah, is superior to the Dua that is made after the Nafl Salaah, like the superiority of the Fardh Salaah over the Nafl Salaah.
In conclusion, the Dua made after the Fardh Salaah (which includes after the Asr Salaah) is extremely valuable as it is the time of acceptance of Dua. These are golden moments when we should turn to Allah Ta’ala, cry before Him with our needs and He will fulfill them through His mercy.
