Robberies, hijacking, murders and rapes, have become a daily occurrence in this day and age. People fear for the safety of their lives, their families and their wealth and properties. The law enforcement agencies have also become corrupt and sometimes even fail to defend themselves against criminals. As for the wealthy, they employ bodyguards and security personnel to protect their homes and businesses, but the reality is, that many a time it is the very same guards that were once responsible to protect them who become a means of their harm.
However, the protection offered by Allah Ta’ala is 100% guaranteed, as there are no flaws in the system of Allah Ta’ala, and it is free of charge. In fact, if one recites the Masnoon Duas taught to us by Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam, then we will be rewarded, which simply means that, not only does Allah Ta’ala protect us, but He rewards us for seeking His protection. This protection is for the wealthy person who is perhaps living in a mansion, or a poor person who is living in a shack.
Allah Ta’ala has full control and power over everything and is not in need of any individual or creation to protect His servants, although He utilizes His angels at times to protect his creation. These angels descended on the occasion of Badr and on various other occasions too, to assist the believers.
By reciting the following Dua, we will be seeking the protection of Allah Ta’ala. The following Dua should be recited every morning, three times after Fajr and thrice after Maghrib. Whoever recites it in the morning will enjoy the protection of Allah Ta’ala until the evening, and whoever recites it in the evening will enjoy the protection of Allah Ta’ala until the morning. In other words, one will enjoy the divine protection of Allah Ta’ala all the time. The Dua is as follows:
Ibn Asaakir Rahimahullah has recorded a narration of Ibn Masood Radiallahu Anhu who states, “Recite (the following Dua) every morning and evening:
بِسْمِ اللهِ عَلٰى دِيْنِي وَنَفْسِيْ وَوَلَدِيْ وَأَهْلِيْ وَمَالِيْ
I commence in the name of Allah (meaning that I seek the protection of Allah) in my Deen, my life, my children, my family and my wealth.”
We should take benefit from such Duas and pass them on to others as well. When others act upon Deen on our guidance, then, we too, will be rewarded.
