Dual Reward For Adhkaar

QUESTION:

It is said in Surah Nuh that seeking forgiveness is a means of opening the way to sustenance, offspring, etc. So, when a person engages in a specific Zikr, for example, Istighfaar or Durood Sharif, with the Niyyah of Allah Ta’ala making a certain matter in their life easy, (eg. marriage, a journey, etc.) do they get the reward for reciting the Zikr, even though it was read with a worldly objective in mind?

ANSWER:

This world is a place of cause and effect. As such, any good deed that we do, we are at times recompensed for our good actions in this world while also being rewarded for it in the Aakhirah Insha’Allah.

For example, it is narrated in one Hadith that a person who is sick and gives Sadaqah intending to get Shifaa (cure) through it, will be blessed with Shifaa with the permission of Allah Ta’ala. So, although a person will be blessed with Shifaa in this very world, his reward for giving Sadaqah will be reaped in the Aakhirah Insha’Allah.

This is in fact a great amount of mercy and compassion from Allah Ta’ala on the Ummah of Rasulullah Sallalahu Alaihi Wasallam.

“Whoever brings a good deed shall have ten times the like thereof to his credit, and whoever brings an evil deed shall have only the recompense of the like thereof, and they will not be wronged.”

“Cure your ill through Sadaqah, protect your wealth by discharging Zakaah and repel difficulties through Dua.”

ALLAH TA’ALA ALONE IN HIS INFINITE KNOWLEDGE KNOWS BEST!
