Question:-
After the demise of a person, announcements are made at the Qabrastaan that whoever the deceased owes money should come forward.
When a person approaches the family and says that the deceased owed him a certain amount of money, they claim that they are unaware of it, and won’t pay it
Is the deceased absorbed of the debt?
Answer:-
If the deceased was really owing the money, then he will not be absorbed of the debt until it is paid by the estate of someone. However, the creditor should be able to produce some evidence that the money was owed to him by the deceased. It has to be a legitimate claim.
