Females keeping their hands beneath the Burqah when saying the ‘Takbeer’ of Salaah

Sep 9, 2022 | Salaah

Question:-

Salaah Burqahs with sleeves are quite popular these days. Alhamdulillah, they make it very easy to be fully covered when we leave home to run on some errand etc. My problem is in regards to Salaah, I’ve recently come across a Mas’ala which states that, when a lady recites Takbeer then her hands should also be concealed. So, would it suffice to cover the hand with the sleeve in such a way that it is not showing, or would it be better to keep the hand under the Burqah in the standing posture?

Answer:-

Maulana Thanvi Rahimahullah has written in Behishti Zewar that when saying the Takbeer-e-Tahreemah, the hands should not be taken out of the Burqah. It should be kept concealed beneath the Burqah. Hence, the females wearing the ‘Salaah Burqah’ should also keep their hands concealed beneath the Burqah.
