QUESTION:
Is it permissible for a female to read her final Sabaq at her Jalsa on a speaker, allowing all the men in the masjid to hear her voice?
ANSWER:
The voice of a female should not reach a male without necessity. Yes, if there is a need and she is left with no option but to speak to a male, then according to necessity, she is permitted to speak to a male. However, she should ensure that she does not speak in an enticing tone.
In this instance, there is no need to have her voice transmitted via a speaker to the males, as she may recite the last lesson before the females. Hadrat Mufti Mahmood Hassan Saheb Gangohi Rahimahullah has stated in Fataawa Mahmoodiyyah that, when the ladies Tablighi programme takes place on a weekly basis, then the female speaker that is addressing other females is not permitted to utilize a microphone or speaker because it is possible that her voice will reach some male, hence she should address other females without using a loudspeaker. In conclusion, it is not permissible for a female to recite her last Sabaq on a microphone or loudspeaker.
