QUESTION:
What is the Fatwa pertaining to fruit falling in one’s yard and consuming it without asking permission from the neighbour?
ANSWER:
In principle, the fruit by default belongs to your neighbour and should be returned to him. If you intend consuming the fruit, then permission should be obtained. [Re: Fataawa Mahmoodiyyah, Vol: 23, Pg: 379]. In conclusion, it will not be permissible to consume the fruit without permission.
