QUESTION:
Respected Mufti Saheb, please provide us with guidance on the matters below.
There is an Aalim who has been saying/making misleading statements and will be coming to the country. Should the general masses be encouraged or discouraged from attending? Some scholars say we should not cause Ikhtilaaf. Does speaking about the wrong and misleading statements that he is making constitue as Gheebah and character assassination?
There are clips wherein the Aalim is making errant remarks, disrespecting the Ambiya and actually criticizing Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam for hosting a Waleemah for Sayyidah Zaynab Radhiallahu Anha with meat and roti. He says that on account of this, he (naudhubillah) had to undergo some difficulty. Should the Ulama remain silent or should they openly speak out against the Aalim? If the answer is yes, what guidelines should be kept in mind?
The Awaam are disrespecting those Ulama who are silent on this matter; what advice should be given to them?
Some people say we should not break the unity. Is alerting the public about the wrongdoing, creating dissension?
Some Ulama say we should entertain the Shura and Nizaamud-Deen Tabligh brothers when they come to our Masaajid, citing the reasoning of *love all”. Is this the correct approach in these matters?
ANSWER:
Two groups of senior Ulama of the country have expressed their view on the matter. One should follow the group that he is affiliated with.
ALLAH TA’ALA ALONE IN HIS INFINITE KNOWLEDGE KNOWS BEST!
