Ghusht announcement after the Fardh Salaah

Feb 28, 2023 | Salaah

Question:-

On some nights in the local Masjid, we have our Jamaat programmes and Ghusht. Normally, a person is appointed to make the I’laan of Ghusht immediately after Salaam. Is this fine, as some people are still busy with their Fardh Salaah.

Answer:-

There is a need to inform people that a programme will be taking place after the remaining Sunnah and Nawafil Salaah so that people may participate in the programme. The work of Dawat and Tabligh is a great blessing which the Ummah has been blessed with in this era, hence, we should participate in the work according to the principles laid down by Hadrat Maulana Ilyaas Saheb Rahimahullah. However, the I’laan (announcement) should be kept as short as possible. The congregants should merely be reminded that Ghusht will take place after the Sunnah Salaah, or a Bayaan will take place after the Sunnah Salaah. Such an announcement will only take a few seconds. In this way, the objective will be fulfilled, and those completing their missed Rakaats will not be disturbed.  Yes, if the I’laan is lengthened, then those completing their missed Rakaats could be disturbed, which is incorrect.
