“Hafs” Qiraat
QUESTION:
Considering that there are many different dialects for Quraan Shareef, why is “Hafs” most commonly read?
ANSWER:
Imaam Hafs was the student, as well as the son in law, of Imaam Al Najud. When Imaam Hafs moved to Makkah Shareef, he popularized the recitation of his teacher and father in law.
