QUESTION:
What is the ruling on having a hair transplant carried out?
ANSWER:
If a person has lost his hair due to illness or some other reason, then transplanting one’s own hair to the defective area will be acceptable. If water is able to reach the roots of the hair during Wudhu or Ghusl then well and good, otherwise if one is able to remove the implanted hair, then he should remove it and allow the water to reach its roots. However, if removing the implanted hair is not possible, one may pour water over it or pass his wet hands over it.
