Hasten towards your Rabb
The people of the world have progressed and advanced in worldly matters to the extent that they probably have never reached before. However, if we have to analyse the lives of such people in the light of Deen and Shariah, then we will find that many have stooped to a level that is far lower than animals.
Allah Ta’ala mentions in regards to such people in the Quraan Sharif, “They have hearts with which they cannot understand (the truth), eyes with which they cannot see (the truth), and ears with which they cannot hear (the truth.) They are like animals, but even more astray.” [Ref: Surah 7, Verse 179]
The more a person drifts away from the true Deen and Shariah, his understanding in matters of Deen and Dunya become dull and obscured to a greater extent. He begins to regard acts of failure and destruction as success, and acts of success as failure. Hadrat Sheikh-ul-Hadith Maulana Muhammad Zakariyya Rahimahullah states, “When people regard poison as medication and medication as poison, then what hope can be expected?”
Instead of acquiring guidance (when experiencing marital and social issues) from the pious Ulama, many opt for western counsellors who many a times recommend Haraam practices such as listening to music etc., whereas contentment lies in the remembrance of Allah Ta’ala as stated in the Quraan, “Behold! in the remembrance of Allah, the hearts find contentment.”
How many are of the opinion that a young couple that are intending marriage must be permitted to spend time together, and thereby become acquainted to each other before the Nikah, whereas such an act is in conflict with the teachings of Allah and His Rasul Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam.
How many firmly believe that it is impossible to survive in this day and age without insurance, medical aid, etc., whereas these schemes devolve upon interest and gambling which is Haraam. Allah Ta’ala categorically declares war with the one that is involved in interest, and in fact, such a person is cursed by Allah Ta’ala.
There are those that are shamelessly engaging in the despicable act of same-sex marriages, a thing never heard of in the past. These marriages are now openly advertised and treated as permissible by these individuals, whereas it was the act of homosexuality that destroyed the nation of Loot Alaihis Salaam.
How many males imitate women in their appearance and vice versa, whereas Allah Ta’ala has cursed those men that imitate women and those women that imitate men.
How many married couples are involved in illicit relationships, whereas such relationships have destroyed and uprooted families, wiping out all forms of blessings from their lives. The consequences are devastating!
How many insist that their children (males and females) attend university in order to attain financial independence, even though it may be at the price of their Imaan and Deen. Many have turned apostate and renounced their Deen either because of marriage, or simply due to following their whims and fancies. The fact of the matter is that sustenance is purely from Allah Ta’ala and not from universities.
These are some of the issues that the Ummah faces, many of which attract the displeasure and wrath of Allah Ta’ala. The great Imaam of Madinah Munawwarah, Imaam Maalik Rahimahullah said,
قول إمام دار الهجرة الإمام مالك بن أنس رحمه الله : لا يصلح آخر هذه الأمة إلا بما صلح به أولها
The last portion of this Ummah will not be correct except (by following those things by which) the first part of the Ummah was corrected.
، وما صلح به أولها هو العمل بكتاب الله وسنة رسوله صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّم ومما ينبغي على المسلم في هذا الجانب أن يكون العمل بالكتاب والسنة مقيدًا بفهم السلف

Some Ulama have mentioned that the first part of the Ummah was corrected by acting on the Kitaab of Allah Ta’ala and the Sunnah of Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam. It is appropriate for a Muslim that he acts on the Kitaab of Allah and the Sunnah of Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam in accordance to the understanding of the righteous predecessors and their way (and not in interpreting matters based on their understanding.)
In conclusion, the doors of repentance are wide open for any person that desires to rectify his matters and once again establish a firm connection with Allah Ta’ala. There shouldn’t be any delay in reaching Allah Ta’ala, in fact one should hasten towards his Creator immediately.
