Inheritance of a deceased aunt that never married
Question:-
My aunt, who was never married, is now deceased. Who inherits from her estate? Do her sisters and nephews get anything from the estate, or does my aunt’s money go to her male cousins?
Answer:-
Your late aunt’s sisters and nephews (brother’s sons) will inherit from her. We assume that there are more than 2 sisters, so they will share 2/3rd’s of the estate, whilst the remaining one third will be divided amongst her nephews. The cousins do not inherit from her.
