Maintaining the Nisaab for a complete year

Question:-

What is meant when we are told that you are liable to pay Zakaat, when the Nisaab is in your possession for the whole year?

For example, A girl reached puberty on the 2nd of Muharram 1439. She didn’t possess the Nisaab for a period of 2 years (that is, 1440 &1441.)
On the 2nd of Muharram 1442, she acquired the Nisaab amount.  Will Zakaat be Fardh upon her in 1442 or only in 1443?

Answer:-

If she got the Nisaab for the very first time in her life, on the 2nd of Muharram 1442, then she must maintain the Nisaab amount for a period of one complete year. It is only after a one year period has elapsed, that she will be required to pay Zakaat on that amount, which is on the 2nd of Muharram 1443. This is what is meant by maintaining the Nisaab for a complete year.
