Method of gargling whilst fasting

Question:-

How should the Fardh Ghusl be completed when one is fasting (particularly the gargling of the mouth and passing water deep in the nose) as there there is a risk of water accidentally entering the throat.

If one rinses the mouth and puts water into the nose for Fardh Ghusl (whilst fasting), will his Salaah (with the same Wudhu) be valid if he didn’t gargle and pass water in the nose for the second time after Iftaar?

Answer:-

Whilst fasting we are prohibited from gargling so deeply that the water reaches the throat. Similarly, we are prohibited from passing water into the nose with such force that it reaches the upper portion of the nose. Hence, if a fasting person requires a Fardh Ghusl, then he should gargle without allowing the water to reach the throat, and similarly, he should pass water into the nose in a gentle manner so that it does not reach the upper portion of the nose.

وكذا تكره المبالغة في المضمضة والاستنشاق (هندية ص199 ج1)

There is no need to gargle and pass water into the nose (for the second time) on terminating one’s fast if one’s Wudhu remained intact.
