Nikaah Advices

QUESTION:

Please advise which Nikaah Kitaabs one should read as a guide or resource before making Nikaah. Also, what is the ruling pertaining to escorting the bride to her marital home?

ANSWER:

One of the most important components of Nikaah is Taqwa. Therefore, we find that all the Aayaat that are recited in the Khutbah of Nikaah contain the same theme i.e. the command of instilling Taqwa in one’s life. For further Nikaah advices, please refer to the Kitaab, “Happily Ever After–A Muslimah’s Guide to a Blissful Marriage”, prepared by Uswatul Muslimah.

Regarding taking the bride to her marital home, her father, or any other Mahram may drop her off, or even her husband may pick her up after the Nikaah.
