Overpowering the enemies through Salaah and Dua

Hadrat Thauban Radiallahu Anhu narrates that Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam said: “Remain steadfast and you will never be able to encompass the rewards that are in store for you if you remain steadfast. You should know that the best of your deeds is Salaah. None but a true believer can safeguard the Wudhu.” [Ibn Majah]

Hadrat Abu Malik al-Ash’ari Radiallahu Anhu narrates that Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam said: “Purity is half of Iman. ‘Alhamdulillah’ fills the scale. ‘Subhaanallah’ and ‘Alhamdulillah’ both fill-or each one fills-the space between the heavens and earth. Salaah is light. Charity is proof. Patience is illumination. And the Quraan is a proof in your favour or against you.” [Sahih Muslim]

Hadrat Abu Dharr Radiallahu Anhu narrates that the Prophet Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam came outside in Winter when the leaves were falling (off the trees). He held a branch, and the leaves began falling. He said: “O Abu Dharr!” I replied: “Here I am, O Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam!” He said: “When a Muslim offers his Salaah for the pleasure of Allah Ta’ala, his sins fall off him just as these leaves are falling from this tree.” [Musnad Ahmad]

Bakr bin Abdullah al-Muzani Rahimahullah says: “Is there anyone like you, O man? When you want to go to your master, you can go without seeking permission.” Someone asked him: “And how is that possible?” He replied: “You perform a complete Wudhu, and you go into your prayer room. You have thus gone to your master, speaking with Him without any interpreter.” [Al-Haithami]

Salaah is a direct means of communicating with Allah Ta’ala and drawing directly from his treasures. Whenever Sahaaba had a need, they resorted to Salaah and solved their problems. With the current situation in Palestine, we as Muslims should turn to Allah Ta’ala through Salaah and Dua, and beg Him to assist the Muslims. Taking to the streets and boycotting products will not assist us in solving our problems, but the help of Almighty Allah will solve all our matters.

On the night preceding the battle of Badr, Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam begged and beseeched Allah in Sajdah until Abu Bakr Radiallahu had to comfort him. The consequence of this connection with Allah Ta’ala was that 313 ill-equipped Sahaabah defeated 1000 fully-equipped Kuffar. The Muslims didnt have water, so Allah Ta’ala sent rain; their portion of the battlefield became firm and the side of the Kuffar became slippery. The angels descended and assisted the Muslims. Before striking the enemy, they would see the head of the Kaafir falling as it was struck by the angel. They were overcome with slumber during the battlefield as a means of comfort. This was as a result of turning to Allah Ta’ala and begging Him to assist and fulfil our needs. The Ummah has always relied on Allah Ta’ala to assist them and have never relied on their external means. The Quraan states, “If Allah assists you then none can overpower you, and if he leaves you without assistance, then who can help you? The believers should therefore place their trust upon Allah.” [Surah Aale-Imraan] May Allah Ta’ala guide us all in the correct direction. Ameen!
