Parts of body to be covered during menses

Question:-

Can a married woman in Haidh wear clothing that reveals the area above the knee, for example, shorts, or, is it just that her husband cannot touch the area from navel to knee?

Answer:-

The area between the navel and the knee must be covered during Haidh. It is not permissible for the husband to touch his wife between the navel and the knee during Haidh. Similarly, it is not permissible for him to look at the area between the navel and the knee during her menses. [Re:- Haidh Wa Nifaas Ke Shari’ee Ahkaam Pg.78]

وَأَمَّا الِاسْتِمْتَاعُ بِهَا بِغَيْرِ الْجِمَاعِ فَمَذْهَبُ أَبِي حَنِيفَةَ وَأَبِي يُوسُفَ وَالشَّافِعِيِّ وَمَالِكٍ يَحْرُمُ عَلَيْهِ مَا بَيْنَ السُّرَّةِ وَالرُّكْبَةِ وَهُوَ الْمُرَادُ بِمَا تَحْتَ الْإِزَارِ، كَذَا فِي فَتْحِ الْقَدِيرِ وَفِي الْمُحِيطِ وَفَتَاوَى الْوَلْوَالِجِيِّ (البحر الرائق ص343 ج1)
