Paying individuals to recite on our behalf

Question:-

There are some Mashaaikh that claim to be Quttub. They also claim to heal the sick through the 99 Names of Allah Ta’ala. They charge a hefty price to heal sick people. Are these people legitimate?

Answer:-

The Names of Allah Ta’ala are indeed extremely effective for solving our matters. For example, if a person is unemployed and recites the name of Allah, ‘Ya Razzaqu’, then doors of sustenance will open for him. If a person keeps repeating the name of Allah, ‘Ya Haleemu’, then the quality of tolerance will be transferred into a person, and he will be tolerant towards others. Hence, there is no problem in reciting any of the Names of Allah to solve our matters.

However, every person can recite these Names on their own. Why does one have to pay someone to recite on their behalf, despite their claim to be extremely pious? When a person is in difficulty and calls unto Allah Ta’ala from the depths of his heart, then Allah Ta’ala will certainly respond to him and remove his difficulty. Here, the pious person is doing it for money, so how will his recitation be effective? We shouldn’t be deceived by such people. Yes, undoubtedly there are pious people in the world, but generally, they conceal their piety from the world and live with the remainder as simple people. We should remain in their company and request them for Duas, but there is really no need to pay them to recite on our behalf, particularly when we are able to recite for ourselves. Today, they will read Wazifas for us, then they will make Tilaawat on our behalf, and perhaps a time will arrive when they will perform Salaah for us. This is pure deception from Shaytaan. May Allah Ta’ala protect us all. Ameen!
