Recitation of the third Kalimah during the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah

QUESTION:-

When making daily Zikr of the third Kalimah, do I have to read it until the end, or can I stop at “…Allahu Akbar”?

ANSWER:-

We assume that your query pertains to recitation of the 3rd Kalimah during the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah. You may recite from the beginning of the Kalimah until ‘Allahu-Akbar’, to attain the virtue of excessively reciting Tasbeeh, Takbeer and La Ilaha Ilallah, during the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah. However, there is great virtue and benefit mentioned in the Hadith for reciting ‘La Hawla Wala Quwwata Illah Billah’ as well, hence it will be extremely meritorious and beneficial to recite until the end of the Kalimah. In conclusion, although it is not necessary to recite till the end of the Kalimah, it will be most beneficial to do so.

عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: مَا مِنْ أَيَّامٍ أَعْظَمُ عِنْدَ اللهِ، وَلَا أَحَبُّ إِلَيْهِ الْعَمَلُ فِيهِنَّ مِنْ أَيَّامِ الْعَشْرِ فَأَكْثِرُوا فِيهِنَّ التَّسْبِيحَ، وَالتَّكْبِيرَ، وَالتَّهْلِيلَ (طبراني معجم الكبير)
