Question:-
Is there any basis for reading “Ya Salaamu” 125 000 times for a very sick person? Is there any harm, or Bid’ah, in carrying it out?
Answer:-
There is no problem in reciting it as long as it is not considered as compulsory, and the recitation of it is not enforced upon anyone. “As-Salaam” is one of the beautiful names of Allah Ta’ala, hence, by reciting this name, we are beseeching Allah Ta’ala for safety and Salaamati from the illness. Many of these recitations are based on Tajruba (experience), so it is not an Amal proven from Quraan and Hadith. In conclusion, it may be recited and it won’t be considered as a Bid’ah, with the proviso that the above conditions are found.
ALLAH TA’ALA KNOWS BEST!
